The search for purpose in life has puzzled people for thousands of years because we usually look in the wrong place: ourselves. While society and self-help books disagree, you won't discover purpose by looking within yourself. Only God, the Creator of life, can reveal your purpose here on earth. "For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven; and that are in earth, visible, and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions or principalities or powers; all things were created by him, and for him." ~ Colossians 1:16
To know God's purpose for your life means you need to know God. The problem is humanity has fallen from the original creation in Adam and Eve. Since God cannot have communion with any who are not Holy as He is, we are separated from God. Yet our relationship can be restored through salvation in His Son, Jesus Christ. As both a man and God, he died as he lived, perfect. Jesus is volunteering to mediate between our sin and God. He accepts the burden of our sin which redeems us in the eyes of God. With a mediator, the Spirit of God can dwell in the saved.
Then will you be on track to discovering God's plan for your life... and your purpose.
